BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW: Securacopy

Securacopy is New Zealand’s most experienced digital print output provider, producing in excess of 90 million impressions per annum.

Securacopy has been established in the copying and document production market for 24 years. With 40 full time staff, three branches and one warehouse, Securacopy is the Blue Star Print Group’s primary digital and small offset quickprint service provider.

Capabilities and Technology

We operate as preferred supplier to the Correspondence School of New Zealand, The Parliamentary Counsel Office and The Office of The Clerk. Securacopy also provides Victoria University, CYFS and AXA with online submission solutions for all domiciled stationary and various offset print work.

Amongst others Securacopy services: - Ministry of Education, The Foundation for Research Science and Technology, Westpac, National Bank, The Office of Treaty Settlements, Corporate Express, FRSITO and TelstraClear.

During 1999 Securacopy invested in new digital print/copy technology, we have recently invested further in Fuji Xerox Docutech 6180, Digipath and Docucolour 8000 technology upgrades. We are at the leading edge in digital B&W and Colour productivity, variable data management and web based asset management/job submission. If required we can digitally print at a cumulative rate in excess of 40,000 impressions per hour 24 hours a day (current operations = 18 hours x 5 days). We operate two networked prepress teams, based on both PC and Mac platforms and provide the full range of bindery products and services.

Our small offset facilities are structured around two A3 offset presses a Heidelberg GTO 52 two colour press and a Heidelberg Quickmaster 46 – which function as a ‘small offset’ printing hub and compliment our own Digital print and the BSPG requirements.

Legislation Direct

Legislation Direct is a business unit that operates under the Securacopy umbrella. Legislation Direct currently provides printing, storage and distribution services for the Parliamentary Counsel Office, The Waitangi Tribunal and The Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives.

The provision of offsite storage and smart distribution of legislation is and has been a core competency for the Legislation Direct team for many years. A professional customer service team is supported by a web based product ordering and stock management system that provides for a wide range of customer ‘touch points’ and delivery channels. We distribute legislation and various publications from two sites to both national and international destinations all year round.

People

All Securacopy's operations are currently in Wellington.

The Thorndon branch of Securacopy represents the main production resource for the Digital division and with it’s imminent relocation to the Printlink Building it will become located on a purpose designed 1000sqm site in Petone, this will be the largest single site digital production facility in New Zealand. Whilst specialising in B&W and full colour digital printing, this branch also fulfils the requirements of a one-stop-shop with all binding and small offset equipment on site.

The Featherston Street and St Pauls branches are located in the heart of Wellingtons CBD and serve a rapid response function, which provides a perfect compliment to the Thorndon Branch. With retail frontage and large output capacities, from an extensive range of digital and analogue equipment, the retail branches are well placed to turn tricky jobs around quickly and effortlessly.
